Founded in 1994 in Louisville, KY, ATA Career Education began as an information technology school. In the fall of 2003 the decision was made to focus on allied health programming and to seek accreditation for the school. Two and one half years later in the fall of 2005, the school gained accreditation status with the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
In 2010 ATA acquired Career Institute of Florida and opened a new campus in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. With the location in Spring Hill, the school offers career training in the allied health field and is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.
